Tour Itinerary
You will ascend with the assistance of our experienced mountain guide and a few porters to help carry the necessary supplies. After traveling around 35 kilometers from Moshi/Arusha, it will take you about 45 minutes to arrive at Machame gate. A valid hiking permit is received upon successful registration and entrance fee payment. The hike will start at Machame Gate and go 11 kilometers (a total of 22 km) to reach Machame Camp; it will take 5 hours to complete each way. The main draw is the Montane Forest, which can be found a short distance beyond the entrance gate. It is a thick forest with many different plant species, including the unique Impatient Kilimanjaro flower that can only be seen on Mount Kilimanjaro. Additionally, you will witness black and blue monkeys.
