Itinerary for the 6 Days Machame Route
Arrival Day: Kilimanjaro Airport to Moshi
Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Moshi. Here, you will meet your guide for a detailed briefing and preparation for the climb. This includes checking your gear and renting any missing equipment. Spend the night in Moshi, ready for the adventure ahead.
Day 1: Machame Gate to Machame Camp
Your trek begins at Machame Gate, located at an altitude of 1,800 meters. After registering, you will start hiking through the lush rainforest, enjoying the diverse flora and fauna. The trail gradually ascends to Machame Camp at 3,000 meters. This hike takes about 5-7 hours, covering approximately 11 kilometers.
Day 2: Machame Camp to Shira Camp
After breakfast, you will continue your ascent through the forest before entering the moorland zone. Day 6: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate and Departure
On the final day, you will descend through the lush rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you will receive your summit certificates. The hike takes about 3-4 hours, covering 10 kilometers. From the gate, you will be transferred back to Moshi for a well-deserved rest and celebration. Depending on your departure time, you will either stay overnight in Moshi or be transferred to Kilimanjaro Airport for your flight home.
