Tour Itinerary
The Great Migration in Tanzania is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that takes place between July and August every year. It is one of the most spectacular wildlife events on Earth, where millions of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles migrate from the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania to the Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya in search of food and water.
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha and Transfer to Tarangire National Park
• Upon arrival in Arusha, you will be met by a representative
from the safari company and transferred to Tarangire National
Park, which is located about 120 kilometers south of Arusha.
• Tarangire is known for its high concentration of elephants,
baobab trees, and the Tarangire River, which attracts a variety
of wildlife such as buffaloes, giraffes, and antelopes.
Day 2: Tarangire National Park
• Spend the day exploring Tarangire National Park, where you
can go on morning and afternoon game drives to spot the Big
Five (lion, leopard, rhinoceros, elephant, and Cape buffalo).
• Keep an eye out for the rare and endangered species such as
the Greater kudu, Oryx, and the elusive leopard.
Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park
• After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park, which is
located about 120 kilometers west of Tarangire.
• Lake Manyara is known for its unique landscape, which
features a massive soda lake, towering cliffs, and a diverse
range of wildlife such as flamingos, pelicans, and hippos.
• Go on a morning game drive and enjoy a picnic lunch at the
lake shore.
Day 4: Serengeti National Park
• After breakfast, drive to Serengeti National Park, which is
located about 300 kilometers north of Lake Manyara.
• The Serengeti is one of the most famous wildlife reserves in
Africa and is known for its endless plains, rolling hills, and
abundant wildlife such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas.
• Go on a morning game drive and enjoy a picnic lunch in the
park.
Day 5: Serengeti National Park
• Spend the day exploring the Serengeti, where you can go on
morning and afternoon game drives to spot the Big Five and
other wildlife.
• Keep an eye out for the annual migration of wildebeests and
zebras, which takes place between July and August.
Day 6: Ngorongoro Conservation Area
• After breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area,
which is located about 180 kilometers south of Serengeti.
• The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a UNESCO World
Heritage Site and is known for its unique landscape, which
features
a massive caldera and a diverse range of wildlife such as black
rhinos, elephants, and lions.
• Go on a morning game drive and enjoy a picnic lunch at the
crater rim.
Day 7: Ngorongoro Conservation Area
• Spend the day exploring the Ngorongoro Conservation Area,
where you can go on morning and afternoon game drives to
spot
the Big Five and other wildlife.
• Keep an eye out for the rare and endangered species such as
the black rhinoceros and the African wild dog.
Day 8: Departure
• After breakfast, drive back to Arusha and depart for your next
destination.
