Day 1: Arusha/Moshi to Arusha National Park
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport. Transfer to your accommodation in Arusha. Rest and prepare for the upcoming safari. Drive to Arusha National Park, which is known for its diverse landscapes, including Mount Meru, lush forests, and beautiful lakes. Morning game drive to spot wildlife such as giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and a variety of bird species. Picnic lunch in the park. Canoeing on Momella Lakes or hiking in the park (optional). Continue your game drive in the afternoon. Return to your accommodation in Arusha for overnight.
Our first destination is the picturesque Arusha National Park, nestled at the base of Mount Meru - the second highest mountain in Tanzania. This park is a hidden gem, offering a diverse range of landscapes, from dense forests to open savannas, and everything in between. As we explore the park, keep an eye out for the majestic black and white colobus monkeys, agile blue monkeys, and the elusive leopard. Take a moment to breathe in the fresh mountain air and listen to the melodious chirping of the birds that call this park home. For the adventurous, a hike up Mount Meru offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape and a chance to spot the rare and endangered Tanzanian red colobus monkey.
Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park
After a delicious meal for breakfast, we travel to Lake Manyara National Park, which is renowned for its extraordinary biodiversity and distinctive topography. There are almost 400 different types of birds in this park, as well as the well-known tree-climbing lions and flamingos. Experience the majesty and beautiful motions of the waterfowl by taking a boat trip on the lake. Prepare your cameras to take the ideal picture of the well-known lake scene against the breathtaking backdrop of the Rift Valley escarpment.
We'll go to the nearby Lake Manyara Village in the afternoon, where you may experience the native way of life and go souvenir shopping. Remember to sample some delectable traditional Tanzanian dishes like sukuma wiki (stew) and ugali (maize porridge).
Day 3: Serengeti National Park
Today, we are heading into the heart of one of Africa's most well-known animal reserves, the Serengeti National Park. Predators like lions, cheetahs, and hyenas are drawn to this park because of the yearly migration of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles. Look out for the Big Five (the lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros) as we travel through the park.
Take a hot air balloon flight above the park at dawn for the ultimate safari experience, which offers a bird's-eye view of the huge plains and the rich wildlife below. Alternatively, watch the sunrise over the African savanna while having a picnic meal beneath the shade of an acacia tree.
Day 4: Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater
After a morning game drive in the Serengeti, we head to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the world’s largest intact caldera. This conservation area is teeming with life, and we’ll search for the endangered black rhino, the majestic elephants, and the elusive cheetahs. As we descend into the crater, keep your camera ready to capture the breathtaking views of the steep walls of the caldera and the abundant wildlife within. The Ngorongoro Crater is truly a natural wonder, providing a unique and unparalleled safari experience.
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater and Departure
Our final day begins with an early morning game drive in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, giving us one last opportunity to spot the incredible wildlife that calls this place home. Afterward, we return to our starting point, where we bid farewell to our fellow travelers and cherish the memories of our unforgettable adventure. You can choose to stay in Arusha for one more night or depart for your onward journey.
