Tour Itinerary
Beautiful mountains, hills, valleys and plains dominate the geography of landlocked Nepal that extends from the Himalayan range in the north to the Indo-Gangetic lowlands in the south. Mt. Everest, the highest point of the Himalayas, is in Nepal. The country is well endowed with perennial rivers and glacial lakes that originate in the Himalayas. The variety in Nepal’s topography provides a home to wildlife such as tigers, rhinos, monkeys, bears, yaks, leopards and many different species of insects and birds. Nepal is home to almost 10 percent of the world’s bird species, 500 of which can be found in the Kathmandu Valley.
In this journey to Nepal we discover its numerous temples and monuments and drive to Bandipur famous for it centuries old architecture and onwards to Pokhara, Nepal’s second most popular tourist destination nestled beneath the snow-crested Annapurna Massif. After Pokhara we drive to Chitwan National Park for unforgettable jungle adventures and wildlife viewing opportunities and enjoy participating in various jungle activities such as an elephant safari, jungle drive and a nature walk. On our drive back to Kathmandu we stop at Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha
Day 1 Arrival KATHMANDU (1300m/4265ft)
Arrive at Kathmandu International Airport where you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and check in to the hotel. The rest of the day is free to explore this historic and vibrant city. Meals: Welcome Dinner
Day 2 Sightseeing around KATHMANDU
After breakfast we depart the hotel for a full-day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu, the “city of glory.” We visit Durbar (Palace) Square, the epicenter of religious and cultural life, an area filled with old temples and historical significance with old glorious Newari architecture. Some of the sights include Kal Bhairav, Hanuman Dhoka, Taleju Temple, Kasthamandap and Kumari Ghar; home to the Living Goddess. Afterwards we visit Swoyambhunath Stupa, said to be one of the oldest Buddhist stupas in the world, which is majestically set high on a hill overlooking Kathmandu Valley. We proceed towards Pashupatinath Temple, a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. This massive temple complex sits alongside the banks of the holy Bagmati River. Only Hindus are allowed to enter the courtyard of the temple, whereas tourists can see the temple from the eastern side of the Bagmati River. Later we visit Boudhanath, a Buddhist Stupa said to be one of the largest in the world. This massive structure stands tall with four pairs of eyes each facing the four cardinal directions, watching for righteous behavior of mankind and for human prosperity. Meals: Breakfast
Day 3 Drive to BANDIPUR
We drive to Bandipur which is a living museum of Newari culture. With its glorious 18th century architecture and medieval ambience, all of Bandipur is a sight and we can make short hikes to villages, temples, viewpoints and mysterious caves. Meals: Breakfast
Day 4 Drive to POKHARA (884m/2900ft)
After morning breakfast in Bandipur, the tour moves ahead with the scenic view of beautiful hills, countryside lifestyle driving along the Trishuli River. Meals: Breakfast
Day 5 POKHARA
Early at dawn we hike up to Sarangkot viewpoint to witness nature’s ethereal lightshow as the sun rises over the Annapurna range turning its peaks from white to gold. After breakfast we go to see the deep, narrow gorge of roaring Seti River from where we drive to Devi’s Falls and further to Gupteswar Cave and the Bat Cave. In the evening we go lazing by the Phewa Lake for the leisurely row on its sparkling waters. Meals: Breakfast
Day 6 Drive to LUMBINI
From Pokhara we drive to Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha. The spiritual heart of Lumbini is the Maya Devi Temple where the Buddha was born under a Bodhi tree. Other sights in Lumbini are Ashoka Pillar, Buddhist Monasteries, World Peace Pagoda and Lumbini Crane Sanctuary. Meals: Breakfast
Day 7 Drive to CHITWAN
From Lumbini we drive ahead for Chitwan National Park, a famous wildlife viewing national park in Asia enlisted by the World Heritage where we will have an excellent chance of spotting one-horned rhinos, deer, monkeys, leopards, wild elephants, royal Bengal tiger and 450 species of birds. Meals: Breakfast,Lunch, Dinner
Day 8 CHITWAN
For watching wildlife, birds and the rare species of flora and fauna we can either go for Jungle Safari deep into the park in a four wheel jeep or on walk or choose an altogether relaxing way on a canoeing trip on the Rapti or Narayani Rivers or by elephant riding which is much thrilling rather than comfortable. Moreover, we can head for exploring surrounding Tharu villages. Meals: Breakfast,Lunch, Dinner
Day 9 Drive to NAGARKOT (2175m/7136ft)
Starting early in the morning we drive back to Kathmandu and onwards to an one and half hour scenic drive to Nagarkot village (2175m) set on a ridge, just 32km from Kathmandu, facing one of the broadest possible views of the Himalaya. Meals: Breakfast
Day 10 Drive back KATHMANDU and Drop to AIRPORT
In Nagarkot after watching sunrise we can take in a panorama from Dhaulagiri in the west to Mt. Everest, Kanchenjunga in the east, via Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung, Shisha Pangma, Dorje Lakpa and Gauri Shanker. We then drive back to Kathmandu and you will be dropped to airport at your flight time. Meals: Breakfast
