Tour Itinerary
This 4-day tour to Bhutan is designed for those interested in seeing the major landmarks of the Paro Valley and Thimphu in the shortest possible time. A valley city with rich traditions and history, the valley also hosts Bhutan’s only international airport. We will pick you up upon arrival in the country and drive you to your hotel. Enjoy a guided, city tour of Paro. See some of its most impressive monuments, including Jangtsa Dumtseg Lhakhang, a 15th-century Buddhist temple; Rinpung Dzong, a Buddhist monastery and fortress; Bhutan’s national museum; and Kichu Lhakhang, the oldest temple in the country. Hike to the extraordinary Paro Taktsang, popular all over the world as Tiger’s Nest, before heading for Thimphu, the largest city in Bhutan that is situated in the linear valley of the Thimpu River. See important landmarks of the city such as the National Memorial Chorten, Drubthob Goemba, and the majestic Tashichho Dzong as well as the gigantic Buddha Dordenma. Your trip, Tour to Bhutan comes to an end in Thimphu from where we will drive you to the airport for departure. Remember it takes an hour to reach to the airport.
Day 1: Bhutan arrival and sightseeing tour of Paro
Enjoy an amazing view of the Himalayas as you approach Bhutan. We will receive you at the airport and drive you to your accommodation. Check into the hotel before heading out for a guided tour of Paro.
See some of the important sights of this city, including Dungste Lhakang, a 15th-century temple; Rinpung Dzong, a fortress-monastery; the National Museum of Bhutan; and Kichu Lhakhang, Bhutan’s oldest temple. Stay overnight in Paro.
Day 2: Paro to Thimphu and hike Tiger's Nest
Head for Paro Taktsang, popular throughout the world as Tiger’s Nest, after breakfast. Built on the face of a cliff in the late 17th century, this monastery is said to have been the place where Guru Padmasambhava meditated for three years.
The hike to the monastery takes around four to five hours. Lunch will be served at the restaurant located halfway up the mountain. Enjoy enchanting views of the Paro Valley before making your way down. Drive to Thimphu next. You will be staying in Bhutan’s capital city tonight.
Day 3: Thuimphu sightseeing tour
Go out on a city tour of Thimphu after breakfast and see some of the city’s most popular landmarks such as the National Institute of Traditional Medicine, Bhutan’s traditional painting school, folk heritage museum, and a paper-making factory.
Since some places are closed on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays), we will explore Thimphu’s weekend market on these days instead.
Day 4: Thimphu departure
Leave for Paro Airport (approximately 1-hour journey) after breakfast.
