About Trip
Kanchenjunga Trekking is an adventurous journey into the remote Himalaya of far eastern Nepal. This trek offers the incredible opportunity to see four of the world’s top five highest peaks! Beyond the spectacular mountain views, the wonderful ascent up to the highlands will be unforgettable. The Kanchenjunga Trekking trail passes through culturally rich and naturally beautiful landscape.
Kanchenjunga Trekking journey takes trekkers off the beaten path. Although the area was opened in 1988 to tourism it has seen relatively few trekkers. The journey offers cultural interaction and insights that cannot be found on the busier and more commercialized routes. The Kanchenjunga Trekking path travels through serene forests and isolated territory. In fact, visitors to the Kanchengjunga region will mostly have the remote trails to themselves! The natural beauty and peaceful setting in the faraway eastern Himalaya can give you an overwhelming sense of being truly away from your cares and concerns.
The main attraction of this trek is Kanchenjunga (8586 m, 28,208 ft). This soaring peak is the world’s third highest. The Kanchengjunga Trek offers up close views this breathtaking mountain. Along the way, views of Everest, Lhotse and Makalu can be enjoyed (first, fourth and fifth highest mountains in the world).
This Kanchenjunga Trekking passes through the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area and adjoins the border with Sikkim, India to the east. The region is populated with Rai and Limbu ethnicities, with unique languages and customary costumes and lifestyle. This area is also home to rare and exotic wildlife including the snow leopard, Himalayan black bear, musk deer, red panda and many species of birds. The biodiversity of flora and fauna will be a highlight. The spectacular mountains, rugged terrain, beautiful landscapes and welcoming people will leave you with a feeling of being far from the world’s troubles and cares!
