Everest Panorama TrekkingA trek to the high mountain landscape of Everest and Khumbu… This 10 days trek offers excellent views of Mt. Everest (8848m.) and the main peaks of the Khumbu region without going to extreme altitudes. Starting with a 45 minutes flight to Lukla airstrip we trek to Namche Bazar, the sherpa 'capital' and the principal town of the area. After a day of acclimatization we explore the traditional villages of Kunde and Khumjung set amongst incredible mountain scenery. We then trek to Thyangboche, the site of Nepal's most sacred Buddhist monastery. The views from this ridge above the Dudh Kosi is possibly the most beautiful with Mt. Everest looming over the Lhotse ridge and Ama Dablam towering above the monastery. Continue to Pangboche, the treks highest point, then onwards to Phortse we return back to Namche and Lukla to end the trek. Everest Panorama Trekking Day to Day Itinerary
Day 01: Fly to Lukla (9,200'), meet the Sherpa crew, and trek to Monjo (9,317'), passing mani walls (boulders with carved Buddhist prayer inscriptions), small villages, and terraced hillsides.
Day 02: Steep climb to Namche Bazaar (11,270'). Afternoon free to explore the area or perhaps bargain for treasures at the market.
Day 03: Follow a level, winding trail to Tashinga (11,800').
Day 04: Trek to Tengboche Monastery (12,680'), with its eye-popping views of Ama Dablam (some consider it the most beautiful peak in the Himalaya). From here you can get a view of the great massif of Mount Everest.
Day 05: Day Excursion to Highend Ama Bablam Base Camp (14,088').
Day 06: Trek to Tashinga (11,800').
Day 07: We retrace the trail to Namche Bazar but detour after one hour to to Khumjung village (12,366'), with its great mountain panoramas. Descend through a beautiful rugged valley to Mende (12,263').
Day 08: Return trek to Lukla via the village of Monjo.
Day 09: Fly to Kathmandu.
