5 Days Uganda Gorillas and Wildlife from Rwanda - 5 days

This 5 days Uganda gorillas and wildlife safari is an extra ordinary safari that will guarantee you to see gorillas in Bwindi and then relax on Uganda’s deepest Lake which has over 29 islands and each island has a history attached to it and also have a touch of savanna wildlife where you will visit Queen Elizabeth national park and this is the second largest national park in Uganda. The famous island is called Punishment Island, you will be given the detailed history how it came to be called so. The trip will expose you to the Equator here you will see yourself standing in both hemispheres of the earth, taking pictures engage in Equator experience, you will also visit Igongo cultural center which is a home to Ankole’s historical heritage. The safari will expose you to the Batwa tribe who are the shortest people on earth and they are forest dwellers.
Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi and Batwa cultural tour
On this first day on the 4 days Bwindi gorillas and Lake Bunyonyi, our driver guide will pick you from the Airport, brief you about the safari and then hit the road to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park via Katuna border, lunch will be served in Kabale in a descent restaurant and then hit the road to Bwindi and to be specific you will head to Rushaga gorilla sector, connect direct to your accommodation, and check-in to the lodge and this will be around 3pm, refresh and at 4 you will visit Batwa community to have lessons learnt about them, thereafter, head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Arise in the morning for a scrumptious breakfast and be driven to the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking where you will later be divided into groups and be assigned gorilla family to track. You will be with your packed lunch and drinking water. Gorilla trekking takes about 30 minutes to 5 hours depending on where the gorillas will have slept the last night, you will spend an hour with the gorillas and then head to the pack headquarters for a gorilla trekking certificate and you proceed to the lodge to check-out and then transfer to Lake Bunyonyi arriving in the evening hours, check-in to the lodge, relax, have dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Boat cruise and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
On this day, you will rise in the morning enjoy your delicious breakfast and then head to the lake for boat cruise. You will enjoy the beautiful scenery of terraces around the Lake, you will visit the punishment island where the pregnant unmarried girls were dumped to starve till death. You will swim since the lake has bilharzia free waters and after that, you will go back to the lodge for lunch and after lunch you will be transferred to Queen Elizabeth national park which is Uganda’s savanna national park with large volumes of wildlife, birds and plant. You will arrive in the evening hours at around 5pm, retire to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Game drive and boat cruise
You will wake up at around 6:30am, grab a cup of coffee, meet your driver guide and transfer to the jungle especially in Kasenyi where grounds also known as the mating ground. You will be welcomed by herds of buffaloes, you will also spot savanna predators which are; lions, leopards, hyenas. Other animals you expect to encounter are elephants, kobs, bushbacks, you will also spot different species of birds. You will return to the lodge in the midmorning, enjoy full breakfast, relax, have lunch as you wait for the evening boat cruise which starts at 3pm and lasts for 2hours. Expect to return to the lodge for dinner and overnight
Day 5: Check-out and departure
Arise in the morning for a scrumptious breakfast, check-out and head back to Kigali Rwanda, stopover will be in Kabale for lunch and then embark on the journey to Rwanda for your next flight back home or to other destinations.
