Tour Itinerary
Day 1
Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to the Hotel: Upon your arrival in Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu,The Nepal Trekking Company representative will be there for your warm welcome who will help you to transfer to your hotel.
Day 2
Day 2: Kathmandu sightseeing: Take your breakfast and get ready for a guided full day sightseeing of Kathmandu Valley. The sightseeing program is focused to introduce some highlights of UNESCO World Heritage sites of Kathmandu such as Kathmandu Durbar square, Swoyambhunath ,also known as “Monkey Temple”, Pashupatinath –temple of Lord Shiva and Bouddhanath; a Buddhist place. After sightseeing evening will be for trek briefing and preparation of things per need.
Day 3
Day 3: Kathmandu-Lukla-Phakding (2652 m/8700 ft.): Today is starting day of our Everest Base Camp Trek. After breakfast, we take an early flight to Lukla, from where our trek begins. The scenic flight to Lukla is about 40 minutes. In Lukla we meet our remaining crews and will have a short safety talk. After then we gear up for a short trekking to reach today’s destination Phakding following Dudh Koshi the Dudh Koshi River ‘River of Milk’. A gentle walk to Phakding is about 3 hours.
Day 4
Day 4: Phakding-Namche Bazar(3440m/11280ft.): Day to get first glimpse of Mt. Everest. After breakfast, today we trek approx. 6 ½ hour to Namche Bazar. The route follows the Dudh Koshi River through many suspension bridges. A learning day to walk at high altitude apparently takes us to Namche Bazar- the trading center of Khumbu Region. Namche will be last point to check equipment and hire additional gears for high altitude.
Day 5
Day 5: Acclimatization day in Namche Bazar: This day is for acclimatizing in Namche Bazar. We can visit Tourist Visit Center and can observe about Sherpa culture and number of plants and animals that can be found in Everest Region. We can spend this day in Namche Bazar with hiking to Thame or relaxing and exploring Namche Bazar.
Day 6
Day 6: Namache Bazar to Tengboche( 3870m./12,694ft.)- Setting Tengboche the destination, we start our trek on trial with few ups and downs which includes the magnificent views of Himalayan ranges including Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt Nupste, close up of Thamserku and Mt. Amadablam. After 6 hours long walking we finally reach Tengboche-a holy place and the place of biggest Buddhist Monastery of the Khumbu region. Tengboche is one of the best panoramic view point of Everest Region. Our overnight will be in a lodge of Tengboche.
Day 7
Day 7: Tengboche to Dingboche(4,360/12,694ft.): Witnessing the wonderful view of Tengboche in the early morning with its additional offer scenery views around the village, today we set towards Dingboche. 6 hours walk passing Pangboche village-a place of one of the oldest Monastery in Khumbu Region takes us to Dingboche. Dingboche is another view point for stunning mountains.
Day 8
Day 8: Acclimatization day in Dingboche: Today is another day for acclimatization. This day, we take a day’s hike to Nagarstang hill, not all the way to top, but half way, climbing about 300 metres from Dingboche, and back before lunch. After then we have free time to take rest.
Day 9
Day 9: Dingboche to Lobuche(4940m./16,207ft.): The trek to Lobuche is about five hours, bringing us close to our ultimate goal. We will view the Khumbu icefall on the way to Dingboche. We will be passing frozen rivers where stone houses sit in an icy wilderness of stunning beauty.
Day 10
Day 10: Lobuche to Gorakshep(5,170m./16961ft.)-Everest Base Camp (5,364m./17,594ft.)-Gorakshep: Day to get to Everest Base Camp. Today day we will have quiet long walk(8-9 hours).From Lobuche we start early and get to Gorakshep for an early lunch. Then we head up to Everest basecamp. During the main climbing season, you will see the encampments of expeditions from all over the world whose common aim is to make successful ascents of the world’s highest mountain. After spending some time at basecamp we go back down to our lodge at Gorakshep. From where we can have astonishing views over the Himalayas.
Day 11
Day 11: Gorakshep to Kalapathar(5545m./18,192ft.)-Pheriche(4280m./14,070ft.)- Today, there is an opportunity to make the steady climb to the lofty summit of Kalapathar (5550m). Most people who are fit and have acclimatized without problems (generally at least half the group) make this ascent. The views from Kalapathar are breathtaking - far better than Basecamp itself. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, and lot of other peaks are visible. After descending from the peak, you continue your descent to Pheriche .
Day 12
Day 12: Pheriche to Namche: Today, there will be a gentle walk heading downhill to lower elevation from Pheriche. The easy walk all the way to Namche via Tyangboche takes us to today destination Namche Bazar.
Day 13
Day 13: Namche to Phakding: Today, we will start later than usual. You can just chill out and, if you didn’t have time yesterday for buying souvenirs, you can buy them now.The path descends steeply down to the Dudh Kosi river which we cross via a high bridge. Through Jorsale and Monjo , where the national park entrance gate is, we walk to Phakding. About 5 hours walk.
Day 14
Day 14: Phakding to Lukla: Final walking day of our trekking, today we trek down to Lukla. It only takes 3-4 hours to reach Lukla. We will have the farewell dinner with our Sherpas and Guides in Lukla.
Day 15
Day 15: Fly back from Lukla to Kathmandu: Today, we fly back Kathmandu from Lukla. After arriving Kathmandu you can have rest in your hotel. If you are interested to buy gifts for your friends and family back home you can visit shops nearby hotel and buy some typical Nepali goods. Evening will be for farewell dinner with The Nepal Trekking Company team.
Day 16
Day 16: Fly back home: Having fantastic time in Nepal with The Nepal Trekking Company team comes to an end today. The Nepal Trekking Company representative will accompany you to airport to catch your returning flight. See you again in Himalayan Kingdom.
