About Kanchenjunga South Base Camp trek
Description
Team Himalaya invites all trekkers and travelers to Kanchenjunga’s North & South Base Camps ,which are the rarely trekked spots. Both the base camps are covered in one trip, so this will be truly fascinating. Although, this is a long trek but is worth the walk as we visit the remote villages, where the way of life is same as it was for hundreds of years, untouched by outside modern world. We pass through the pristine forests of rhododendron, pines, oaks and firs tree lines, alongside the amazing scenery of rolling hills and valleys on the undisturbed area in far remote eastern Himalaya . We cross the trails alongside the world’s 3rd highest
Mt. Kanchenjunga, a Tibetan word Kanchendzonga “the five jewels of the great snow range” straddling the border between Nepal and Sikkim.
Trekking Kanchenjunga’s North & South Base Camps, is a complete rare combination that only Team Himalaya organizes. This will be a great trip, as we have the finest guides and strong porters who are acquainted with this area like the back of their hands. In this exciting, least trekked area, we explore the hidden corners of eastern Himalaya with fantastic panorama of Mt. Kanchenjunga at 8, 586 meters / 28,169 ft and the world’s 5th highest Mt. Makalu at 8, 463 m / 27, 766 ft with range of adjoining fine peaks. This trek to Kanchenjunga’s North & South Base Camps, leads to traditional villages on the least trekked region in complete wilderness and harmony of nature and mountains.
We start this adventure to Kanchenjunga’s North & South Base Camps with a spectacular flight to Nepal’s South-East close to India border with mountain panorama along the flight . On reaching Tumlingtar , we take a short scenic drive to mid hills villages. Finally from Ilam , we head to Taplejung area at Sukhetar where this true adventure starts. Kanchenjunga’s North & South Base Camps trek leads from high hills to giant mountains of arctic zone. After a wonderful time in the high mountains in complete isolation, we head back to Taplejung and back to Ilam with beautiful tea garden area . From Ilam, we take the scenic flight back to hustle, bustle city life of Kathmandu after a magnificent time at Kanchenjunga’s North & South Base Camps in the great company of Team Himalaya trekking guides and staffs.
